For six decades, the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) Argonne National Laboratory has excelled in conducting scientific research in support of a secure future for the nation. The Board's Science Policy Council, which provides strategic and scientific advice, consists of the vice presidents for research of the University of Chicago and Northwestern University, the vice chancellors for research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of Illinois at Chicago, and the Director of Argonne.
